Making financial decisions today, especially about buying or selling a home can be challenging. I’m Tori Millan of toriandtammysellhomes.com and a real estate agent in the Victor Valley. Here are a few thoughts on the subject.
“Randolph Duke: The good part, William, is that, no matter whether our clients make money or lose money, Duke & Duke get the commissions.
Mortimer Duke: Well? What do you think, Valentine?
Billy Ray Valentine: Sounds to me like you guys a couple of bookies.”
Sound familiar? It is from the movie Trading Places with Duke & Duke’s Ralph Bellamy as Randolph Duke, Don Ameche as Mortimer Duke and Eddie Murphy as Billy Ray Valentine. Both Tammy and I have watched this movie many times and it always makes us laugh. This movie reminds me of an old quotation- “Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life” but in the example I gave this is at the extreme opposite end of the spectrum or at least should be. My point is that it should never be just about “the money”, it is and should always be about people.
These are challenging times and it is not merely the consequences of events today that direct our decisions but our perceptions of how to build for tomorrow. Tammy and I are California natives, Tammy a lifelong resident of Victorville and Apple Valley. I grew up in The Coachella Valley near Palm Desert and eventually relocated to Apple Valley. Between us we have three children and two grandchildren and understand the importance of stability, security and what it means to build for the future. We consider ourselves to be extremely fortunate to be local Realtors here in The High Desert and we have through hard work and dedication become known for our extensive market knowledge and unmatched devotion to our clients. Our goal is to earn the respect of our clients by working tirelessly on their behalf and by always offering them candid advice.
If your plans for the future include selling your home or buying a new home, Tammy and I would love to help you.
